This report from Gaza highlights key gender-based violence (GBV) trends for September 2024.

A significant rise in resource denial is noted, with nearly 40% of incidents linked to restricted access to essential resources. Physical assault remains the second most common form of violence, primarily affecting adult women, though children and men are also impacted.  Emotional and psychological abuse, often accompanied by physical violence, is widespread, especially among women and girls. The report also highlights a troubling increase in sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) by humanitarian workers, complicating response efforts.

Key challenges include limited safe spaces, lack of specialized services, and high turnover among case managers, which affect the quality of support for survivors. The report calls for urgent action, including expanded shelter capacity, enhanced case management training, and improved access to services to better support survivors in Gaza.
