A meeting was held between Mr. Adnan Husseini, Governor of Jerusalem District, Ms. Barbara Piazza-Georgi, UNFPA Representative, Mr. Ulrik AHNFELDT-MOLLERUP, Head of UNODC and others on 17 April 2012. The meeting discussed the latest on drug prevention project, hopefully to be funded by Qatar, and to be implemented in Jerusalem.
The meeting focused on project mechanisms, where emphasis will be on prevention, treatment, advice and awareness, and implementation to be carried out by NGOs in Jerusalem. The Governor specifically asked that target group should be those who live in the Old City of Jerusalem, especially youth, and a comprehensive survey should take place to assess drug use in East Jerusalem.
