“A better Protection and Care for the Elderly” was the theme celebratingInternational Day of the Elderly, an event that was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) and funded by UNFPA in Jericho on 4 October 2011. “A National Strategic Plan for the Care of the Elderly was formed by MoSA and funded by UNFPA. Its purpose is to issue a law that will ensure sustainability and protection of the elderly” said Deputy Minister Mohammed Abu Hameed, “as well we are forming a high level national committee” he added.
