The State of World Population Report 2011 was launched on 14 December during an official celebration that took place in Gaza, an event that was funded by UNFPA.   “Population in Palestine is increasing” Ms. Barbara Piazza-Georgi, UNFPA Representative, said.  “Population in Gaza is 1.6 million, and the number will increase by the 2025, which will impose a great challenge that needs to be addressed through providing needed services” she continued.
