The UNFPA Country Office for the Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People is pleased to welcome Ms. Elke Mayrhofer as the new Deputy Representative.
Elke comes with a strong humanitarian response and programme management experience. She joins the office after her most recent positions as Humanitarian Programme Officer with UNFPA's Humanitarian Response Branch, New York and as Programme Officer for francophone East and Central Africa, UNFPA Africa Division. Elke's previous postings include work with UNFPA Kenya and FHI Kenya where she assisted in the scaling-up of antiretroviral therapy, ART.
Elke is a national of Austria and has an academic background in Cultural Anthropology and a post-graduate degree in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, Austria.
